In Book of Travels, the character creation process consists of 7 Pages, and we've condensed the contents here for you to have for quick access, so that you can make the character best suited for you.

Page 1 : Forms

Form is a base template of your character, giving your character a unique look, Natural Talents, Origins & Wind Affinity. These options cannot be altered once the character is created.


Page 2 : Background

Here you can fill in roleplay and flavour information of your character's background. Your Age, Gender and Background story will not affect your gameplay. You also have an Additional column where you can write extra appearance descriptions of your character. You are able to alter your background and Additional column later in game by stopping at any Nomad's Rest.

The character limit for your background story is 105,223 characters


However, your Upbringing might alter your gameplay in the future. As of Chapter Zero,The Journey Begins, this has no effect yet.


Page 3 : Personality

In this page you are able to select Traits for your character that will affect your gameplay. Out of 10 Positive Traits and and 9 Negative Trait shown specifically for your Form, you will have to choose 2 Positive Traits and 1 Negative Trait.

Similar to the Background page, you also have an Additional column where you can write roleplaying descriptions of your character. You are able to alter them later in game.


Page 4 : Skills

The starter Skill you can obtain in character creation are based of your Wind Affinity, meaning all Form of the same Wind Affinity will see the same 3 options. You can only choose 1 of the 3 Skills presented.



Besides your skills, as stated in Page 1, you have Natural Talents, which you can assign one Talent point to either 1 of said Talents as a headstart.


Page 5 : Appearance

Despite its name, this will not affect how your character will look in game.

But don't take it lightly, as Colours in Book of Travels seems to hold a lot of significance, and this is no exception to your Eye Colour. While uncertain, your Eye Colour might affect your gameplay in the future. As of Chapter Zero,The Journey Begins, this has no effect yet.

Your Eye Colour and Voice cannot be changed once your character is created.


You are able to change your eye colour to a random colour using Knot of the Infamous


Page 6 : Equipment

Here, you are able to obtain your starter equipments by rolling a die. You can use the Store button to save the set that you seem to enjoy but want to see other options, and recall it back with the Recall button if you really did prefer it.


In terms of wearable Equipments, they are usually of Poor Quality , but as you play the game, you will have the chance to get better items.

Of them all, only Off Hand items seems to change in appearance in game.

You will also get starter Belongings in your bag, consisting of Consumables and flavour items marked as Unknown.


Page 7 : Name

Finally, similar to the Equipment Page, you are to roll a die for both your First name and Last name. This is to ensure no inappropriate names are made in the server and helps immersion.

You may also give a Nickname to your character, but no one other than yourself will be able to view it.



You are almost ready to venture! Your final steps are to set where your journey begins. You will choose between a number of Starting Travel Scenarios.
