When you speak to Head Apprentice Efan for the first time Welcome! I am wind voice apprentice Efan, apprentice to Master Wind Voice Kharimn, at your service!Me and my fellow Kephi are conducting a critical part of our studies out here. Part of our work is taking readings from the enchanted wind-foils that you will find at the top of the cliff. They are fascinating contraptions, enchanted by our master to read the wind's energies.
When you speak to Head Apprentice Efan for the second time Hello again, Wanderer. Are you seeking any particular learnings up here? Perhaps I can be of service? I'm already well versed in the ways of the Winds, if you allow me to remind or enlighten you?

Southern Winds encompass stormy, energetic qualities...
Western Winds are warm, creative, diffuse and mystical in nature...
Eastern Winds blow powerful, true and just...
Northern Winds are rich in energies cerebral, calm and mindful...
Of course you've known all of this since childhood...Unless you are a stranger to this land..?

Dialogue
When you deliver the Envelope stamped with the mark of Rivenleaf Ah! It finally arrived. I ordered this ages ago. You and the Post Service must have their hands full, huh. Don't get me wrong. I am very grateful for your delivery. Without it I would have had to travel to Rivenleaf and back just to borrow a single knot-weave.
If you have a Kettem crux in your inventory Hey, you should show that Kettem Crux, you carry to Kephi! Come to think of it, there is also a mystic who runs a shop in Crossings...She has been asking us to look out for mystical remnants from fallen magical beings...If you get your hands on more cruxes and things like that. I'm sure she would be interested too. Send her my regards if you decide to visit her, her shop is next to the old well in the centre of the village.
When you speak to him inside the Stairwell the first time The man sitting on the steps has started whittling another ring Oh, Wanderer! I see you find your way down here in the old flautist's stairwell. We wind reader apprentices come down here from time to time in order to reset ourselves from the influences of the winds. Masters like Kharimm have little need for it, but we apprentices can sometimes become overwhelmed by the four winds and their ill-blowing ilk; the half-winds. Coming down here for a day or two where the only winds at play is your own lifewind acts as a way of better sensing the winds when we go out into the open again. Have you ever licked your finger before holding it up in the air? Or spent time apart from a loved one, only to be reunited again? Then you would understand the sensation. The windreader apprentice finishes his whittling and blows the wood-flakes away from his creation. I must admit that it can get a little boring, waiting down here in the dark. Carving the rings of my clan helps. My aunt showed me how to do it and it has become somewhat of a ritual of mine. Why don't you take one? I always end up with too many to know what to do with anyhow.
When you speak to him inside the Stairwell again The man sitting on the steps is whittling something small with a dull-looking kitchen knife. Hello Wanderer! I must admit that it can get a little boring, waiting down here in the dark. Carving the rings of my clan helps. My aunt showed me how to do it and it has become somewhat of a ritual of mine. Why don't you come back another day? I always end up with too many so I would be more than happy to give you another one.
