Descended from the peoples that inhabited the islands of Braided Shore since before recorded annals, your kind is by far the most numerous. Naturally Adaptive and resourceful, Asken folk have no natural physical weaknesses or fortitude, but their inherent spirituality makes them able to master the language of magic.

Might and Delight

Asken folks are those who were born in Braided Shore.

Lore

The Ancestors of the Asken folk are said to have arrived as boat dwellers, bringing with them a practice of complex knot crafting and language known as Vellan. The name Braided Shore was given to the land by these people whose search for a homeland brought with it a yearning for the order and harmony symbolised in braids.

During The Age of Dynasty, the Asken folk has been exposed to the spoken language, Elskeni, and has adopted it as their main verbal way of communication, while still using Vellan as their written language. [1]

Any old Asken can distinguish a new Asken from half a rest away, no matter how they try to conceal it. I hear it's not true the other way around though...

Beliefs

The Asken folks worships the Sefra that inhibits Braided Shore for their powerful influence and magic. Sefra Shrines are seen around and often citizens would pray under them to get a blessing, or in some unfortunate cases to be cursed.
