Finding a pansy of pure sulphur colour is seen as a sure sign of good fortune. Commonly, the Braided Shore pansy has a single petal in contrasting cobalt, seen as a mark of melancholy in a face otherwise radiant with sunshine. Oxen has a passion for the sweet flavour of pansies. Before they were domesticated, the wild oxen of Braided Shore migrated between fields where the golden flowers could be found in the greatest abundance. In light of this, the pansy symbolises strength, fertility, and good health.
