I've heard mention of a supernatural being called 'The Sleeper' who communicates to its growing number of followers through someone called 'The Herald'. It appears to be connected to some kind of cult older than The Elden
The Sleeper is never seen in game, but has been brought up in a conversation.
Lore
The Sleeper an entity known to to house terrors within and on the waters of The Verve back or even earlier than The Elden Age. With the construction of The Warding Light, the Sleeper went into a slumber.

This spell was very costly to acquire. It will aid us immensely when the Sleeper's Followers come hunting for us. Whatever you do, don't lose it!
The ages have weathered the statuette but you can still make out what looks like a hunched over Sefra, only with wet mollusk-like tentacles and growths sprouting from where its feathers should be.
