Wood blewit thrives on deadwood and can be found in abundance in a forest where canopies shade the forest floor from the sun. While fully edible it is not the tastiest of mushrooms and its most common use is as padding material under the straps of backpacks, saddles, and ox-yokes. As it thrives in the shade, inner soles made of Wood blewit are said to make a stealthy wearer undetectable.
