The Quest
1) Starting the quest
Speak to the Chief Engineer in Myr. They will request a Master-iron cog and say they will pay you well for it.
Although the House Yehan Highborn can tell you about this quest, they do not accept the Master Iron Cog and you cannot complete this quest by speaking to them.
2) Acquiring Master-iron
Master iron items are extremely rare and expensive. The most reliable way is purchasing one from the Master Iron Prospector. The Shifter also usually carries one.
3a) House Yehan Ferry
Return to the Chief Engineer. If you have an item that they will accept in your inventory, they will react by saying
Hey Wanderer! I'll trade you well for that cog!

3b) House Nehm Automobile
You may choose to give a Master iron item to Humnabell Nehm instead.
Aha, you own a Master Iron item. Nomad! Will you trade it to me? Very good, Nomad! On behalf of the House of Nehm, thank you!

This quest can be repeated. .

Although they request a Master-iron cog specifically, they will accept a number of other master iron items to conclude this quest.
