Zania is the overseer of the archaeological dig.

Locations

  • Kuro Orchard, waiting by the shed on the west side of the Pottery Grove.

Quests

Zania was the key NPC in the Deliver a cobalt urn Quest

If you are holding a Cobalt urn, they will react with special dialogue:

Oh, Nomad! Let me see that! Wait...While old, this urn appears to be unglazed. I would probably place its origin around the mid to late Third Age. Not quite what my master is looking for. But do not feel discouraged. If you were able to find this then I would like to encourage you to pursue your potential, just like my master did for me. Take this, it's my old brush. There are a million lives with a million stories and a million secrets resting beneath a thin layer of soil. It is up to us to find them.

Zania gave you Archaeologists' brush as a reward.

Endeavours

Zania provides additional information after you pass a +2 Endeavour Symbol Social.png check.

Dialogue

Zania is the temporary supervisor while the real supervisor High Archeologist Myrak is away. They are concerned about the state of the dig site because Professor Myrak is concerned.

Dialogue
When you speak to Zania the first time Hello, Nomad! I am Zania, overseer of this archaeological excavation when my master, Professor Myrak is away. This site is unique due to there having existed potteries here through all the ages...Shards and broken crockery from the Halzhaan age are quite common, but we find quite a lot from the Varhim age as well...Rarest of all of course, are pieces and shards from the Elden Age...Should you happen to find any Cobalt Glazed Pottery Shards however, I've been told that the Lighthouse Keeper in Myr has urgent need of them. As my Master sends the few we find here to him makes me confident to recommend you do the same. Farewell, Nomad.
When you speak to Zania a second time Hello again, Nomad...Don't let professor Myrak see you run around too carelessly here...The professor made a significant discovery a while back and is now engaged in to uncover more...Something lay buried in the deepest sediments below...A deep shaft runs from the one remaining foundation of an Elden kiln...That gave us access deep into the underground...Professor Myrak has kept whatever he found down there to himself so far...The little he has let slip of what it was...Well...I'd better say no more on the subject.

Dialogue
When you speak to Zania after passing their sociality endeavour ...You do seem a trustworthy sort...The little I know I overheard when the professor was sleep talking...There was worry in the tone of his voice...He mumbles something that sounded like 'The Calling Signs'...But I might have misheard...
When you successfully complete the Deliver a cobalt urn Quest Oh, Nomad!
