There was once a Selkan trader who had a boat full of glassware, which he intended to trade in Braided Shore. The trader was wary and wanted to protect his glass at all cost, so he chose to place metal plates around his glass to protect them. The more metal he stacked, the more nervous he became, and the more nervous he became, the more metal he stacked. Until finally he was satisfied with the amount of armour he had placed on his ship and set off. It's said that his ship only floated for a moment before the whole ship, the heavy metal protection, and all of his glass, sank to the bottom of the ocean.
