Gel Halzhaan was a court minister and a historical figure from The Age of Dynasty. He may have been the brother of Ilmana Halzhaan. Gel Halzhaan had a son named Seshtep who joined an expedition to the Unwound and never returned.
As a minister, he is known as for his many bans, banning further expeditions beyond The Wall, banning dragonweed and attempting to ban cider.

Gel Halzhaan is frequently depicted in an elaborate Traditional Myr hat which is a bonnet stuffed with fragrant tea leaves.
