This quest is not long, but does involve meeting a roaming NPC in a number of different locations with an item from a fairly rare category. As of December 2023, it seems that you can only complete this quest once.

The Quest
1) Starting the quest
Speak to Niemi when they are wandering around the Braided Shore. It is not clear if you can trigger the quest in Myrt. They will say
Hello, Khelim. Don't shout it out at the whole world...But I believe I've found a good place to sift for fall gems, right here! Do you know the lore of the fall gems, Khelim? They are found only in streams and water...They originate from beyond the Wall, and come to us through the great waterfall of Fumes. Fall gems fetch a hefty sum with traders, but I collect them for a much greater reason...You see, my son dreams himself away to a world beyond the Wall...My boy's sickly body, sadly does not allow him to play with the other children in the village...So he has made up a fantastic world inside his head that lies beyond the Wall...That is where he goes to play the exploring hero with his imaginary companions. My wish is to give him fall gems as tokens of proof that his dream world is real. I really hope I find some here. If not, I will try to find them somewhere else. I will never tire of searching. Farewell, Khelim.
2) Seek and You Shall Find
Find or purchase a fall gem. Fall gem items are both expensive and fairly rare.

Niemi will give you one Knot of thankful wishes and say
Are you quite sure, Khelim? This must be quite valuable...Very well. I shall accept the gift for my son. Even though it tears at my heart that I have no means of repaying your kindness. I will pray that The Winds guide you along a path to great fortunes. It's the least I can do. If your path ever leads you around Myrt then please come and see me. That's where I work when I'm not collecting gems or taking care of my boy.
3) Place of Business
Take Niemi up on their offer to visit them where they work, in Myrt. Niemi appears in Myrt during the day. They say
Khelim! The Winds have brought you to me again. I cannot tell you how ecstatic my son was at your gift. I believe you have found yourself a fan. *chuckle* *sigh* I haven't seen him this lively in a long time. It does my heart well, more than you can imagine...Oh! I almost forgot, here. He wanted me to give you this if I ever met "The Fall Gem Khelim" again.

4) No Repeats
If you attempt to approach Niemi again with a fall gem item in your inventory (Note: this was one person's experience as I was trying to see which other items might trigger the quest, more data is needed to test this theory), they will say
I know my son loves your gifts, but I couldn't ask you for more. I would not want to take advantage of your generosity.
