Keronos was the last member of the Old Dynasty of Kasa during the Third Age. He is known primarily from the Clay ring of Keronos.

Lore

Little is known about Keronos; in fact, almost nothing at all. The only information we have about him comes from the Clay ring of Keronos, which is also the only source mentioning his existence. This source notes that even scholars of Rivenleaf have only minimal knowledge of him beyond his name. What we do know is that Keronos was the last member of the Old family of Kasa before the rise of the Halzhaan dynasty. Even more intriguingly, there is a connection between Keronos and the Sefra, though the details of this connection remain entirely unknown.

It is unclear who Keronos’s parents were. Given that the Old Dynasty lasted three or four generations after King Mathidas, Keronos could have been a child of Semmethep, Sashinja, or one of their descendants. However, the ring features an illustration of a particular Sefra described as "breathtakingly beautiful." Although we do not know the exact nature of Keronos’s relationship with this Sefra, it is possible that he was either her child or had a romantic involvement with her.

Mentions

A lumpy umber clay ring with an illustrious illustration of a breathtakingly beautiful Sefra on its head.

The Sefra are connected to many mysteries in Braided Shore, among them the legend of Keronos, the last member of the Old Dynasty of Kasa.

Keronos is said to have been the last of the Old family of Kasa before the rise of the Halzhaan dynasty. Compared to his ancestors, Keronos is seldom featured in tales. And the few stories that do speak of him and his disappearance do so sourcelessly for even the scholars of Rivenleaf know next to nothing about him beyond his name.
