Today I spent the entire day working on the central keel. My arms are so tired I can hardly hold on to my tea mug. The New Shipping Company has great ambition if nothing else, that was made plain to me today. I got a glimpse of the master boatbuilder's plans and the vessel, when finished, will be enormous. I've heard that they have already sent agents out to search for suitable folk to crew her. Had I not a family I could not stand to be without, I would sign on as junior ship's carpenter for the first voyage, without a second thought.
