  1. Tea Blender Apprentice

The Quest

1) Starting the quest

The Tea Blender Apprentice in Clearing during the day.

Travel to the Clearing in Myrt and talk to Tea Blender Apprentice who can be found in the left-hand tent. They ask you to sample their teas, one at a time, and return to them after tasting each one.

Initial Dialogue

Dialogue conditions Dialogue
Speaking to Tea Blender Apprentice for the first time Three pinches of ground riverroot... And just a dash of alken oil... No, wait. Two dashes! Ah! The tea mixer, startled at your sudden appearance, accidentally kicks their bowl of tea leaves, spillin git and making a terrible mess. Oh... oh no... Sefra blast it all. Do you get a kick out of scaring working folk half to death, Khelim? *Sigh.* Apologies. A cloak of stress has rested on my shoulders as of late and has been dipping into all my creations, rendering them near impotable. In truth I am but an apprentice tea blender. My master has left on a journey to sample tea blends throughout the shore, leaving me to do his job. At first I thought my fortune had been surely made! This was my opportunity to show off my creative mind and impress the bosses with my unique blends... What a fool I was! The skalds shall sing odes to my folly for generations to come! And those odes shall be lauded in the courts all across the shore and beyond! Even the Sah Basir shall clatter as they hear of the foolish tea blender of Myrt! *Sigh* At the very moment I was put in charge every drop of creativity left my body faster than a cat with its tail on fire! Hmm. Perhaps what I need is a new mouth! Yes!! I have imprisoned my creativity inside my own mind! I need a second opinion! Please Khelim, I have a few different batches already brewed around the clearing. Would you be a dear and sample one and return here? Only sample one at a time and come here right away! It is vital that you report back while the taste is still fresh in your memory!

Note - The following steps can be completed in any order.

1a) Blend number one - Potential

Go to the first pot with steam coming out of it, just south-west of the Tea Blender Apprentice.

When you are near, an icon will appear to sample the tea. The words This is not even tea, someone has just boiled water will appear. Return and speak to the Tea Blender Apprentice.

Dialogue conditions Dialogue
Speaking to Tea Blender Apprentice after sampling 'Blend number one - Potential' Just boiled water? That is a gross oversimplification! My intention was to display a deconstruction of a traditional tea blend in order to symbolise... *Sigh* Yes it is essentially just boiled water.

1b) Blend number two - Radiant Riverboat

Go to the second pot, which is on the fireplace just next to Tea Blender Apprentice.

When you are near, an icon will appear to sample the tea. Return and speak to the Tea Blender Apprentice.

Dialogue conditions Dialogue
Speaking to Tea Blender Apprentice after sampling 'Blend number two - Radiant Riverboat' Oh darn, your face is as jade as the tree crowns above me! Not a winner, I take it? I will cut down on the river root oil for the next batch...

1c) Blend number three - Catharsis

Go to the third pot with steam coming out of it, which is behind the right-hand tent.

When you are near, an icon will appear to sample the tea. This will grant your character the effect 'Cat' for 95 seconds, which turns your character into a Cat.

Return and speak to the Tea Blender Apprentice.

Dialogue conditions Dialogue
Speaking to Tea Blender Apprentice after sampling 'Blend number three - Catharsis' Well aren't you adorable. Hold on... those eyes... Right, definitely less cat saliva for that blend...

The 'Cat' effect can be cancelled by clicking the effect icon. When 'Cat' wears off, the effect 'Nausea' will be applied to your character instead.

1d) Blend number four - Saha special

Go to the fourth pot with steam coming out of it, which is to the right of the right-hand tent.

When you are near, an icon will appear to sample the tea. You will see a loading screen and wake up in the Outhouse in Bat Saha. The effect 'Displaced' will be applied to your character. You will not be able to run while the 'Displaced' effect is active.

You need to return and speak to the Tea Blender Apprentice while the 'Displaced' effect is still active. If it fades, or is cancelled, sample the tea again to be transported back to the Outhouse.

Note - The walk speed modifier of the Sodden boon still works while the 'Displaced' effect is active, and can speed up your return to Clearing.

Speaking to Tea Blender Apprentice after sampling 'Blend number four - Saha special' The Bat Saha outhouse you say> Don't be ridiculous. But just to be safe, I'll start sourcing my wind dust from somewhere else...

2) Finishing up?

Once you have sampled all four teas, talk to the Tea Binder Apprentice again to finish the quest and receive a reward.

Dialogue conditions Dialogue
Speaking to Tea Blender Apprentice after sampling all four teas *Sigh*' Thank you Khelim. But I am no step closer to what I am doing wrong! Here, take my last blend, and drink it or throw it away. I only made one but I bet it is as foul as the rest of them. Now please. Leave me be, I am going to start my research from scratch!
Speaking to Tea Blender Apprentice again Apologies Khelim, I am too deep into my flavour research to talk!

Reward

3) A recreated blend

If you consume Accidental masterpiece brew and return to Tea Blender Apprentice, they will become a merchant and sell you a recreated version of the brew. You can buy from them repeatedly.

Dialogue conditions Dialogue
Speaking to Tea Blender Apprentice after drinking Accidental masterpiece brew I-It was great you say? Amazing even?! Ah! If only I had not thrown away my notes... Perhaps I can remember parts of the recipe... It may lose some of its potency but I would be willing to trade you y recreation... for a price
Speaking to Tea Blender Apprentice again after drinking Accidental masterpiece brew I have whipped up another batch of my recreated blend!
