"My heart lies heavey with sorrow, may this gift to you relieve my burden, yet may my memory of you never fade." - The words spoken by people taking part in the Aveesh Wafkha, a local custom in Kasa. While most of the ash created during the ritual is poured into the Kasa canals, a pinch is saved and hardened into this small talisman. The ritual dates back to the time when the Asken folk arrived in Kasa by boats, and is believed to have been originally created to honour someone who was lost at sea.
